I know it is rather simplistic, but the facts are Payet was world class and an irreplaceable talent, when he left we went to shit, and was the main reason more than all others combined for Bilic’s demise.

Likewise Arnie and Pellegrini inconsideration that Arnie’s goals single handily kept us up. Without Arnie we would have been relegated. When he left we again went to shit and Pellegrini's fate was sealed because he was unable to replace him with anyone remotely near his goal scoring ability.

Wrong, pellegrini and his staff had full control of transfers, so what ended pellegrini wasnt just an injured goalkeeper, allowing arnie, carroll, hugil, hernandez and perez to leave (I know there were reasons for their sales) but replacing all those forwards with just haller and ajeti, and allowing obiang to leave and replacing him with nobody leaving us with rice, an ageing noble and sanchez as the only central midfielders at the club, so considering our goalie was our player of the year last season you'd think he'd be looking to strengthen the midfield and defence to stop the keeper from facing all those shots in the first place, instead he spent £25 mill on another attacking midfielder in Fornals. But if you think only a fabianski injury has stopped us becoming a top side then there really is no help for you, but I think I speak for most people on here when I say I think we are all bored of this shit your spouting on almost every thread.

i think the main thing that did pellegrini is a collective inability to play football. the regression from how we played against norwich to everton was mental and pellegrini panicked and started attempting to turn us into a stodgy workmanlike side with a snodgrass/noble/rice midfield.

it was curtains at that point to my mind. should've stuck to his principles and kept us attempting to play football. we ended up being caught in a middle ground where we couldn't defend and couldn't attack either.

Losing Arnie didnt end Pellegrini.

Arnie was largely injured and when not injured ineffective under Pellegrini.

I actually think what ended Pellegrini was starting this season well and then losing Fabianski when he did. Meant we werent galvanised for a battling campaign, and ended up throwing goals in with a clown between the sticks.

Arguably the other thing that did for him was signing Fornals over Lobotka

Having a massive clear out and not effectively replacing squad players was probably the main issue. As evidenced by Roberto and Ajeti.

This, coupled with tactical ineptitude.

I'm no fan of Moyes, and think it is a terrible appointment for the club generally. But I think he's the sort of manager who will appreciate Antonio and get a lot from him.

We shouldn't kid ourselves: he will improve some players (those who thrive on a higher tempo, steely and more traditionally "British" game). But he's generally uninspiring and negative with his tactics. I can see some players hating him - but I don't think Antonio will be one of them.
